Pixel perfect?

Yesterday, Google did something it hasn't done, well, ever. They released their own phones! In the past, they've been at the helm of the Nexus brand, but they have never actually designed the phones from the ground up. But now they have. And their new phones are amazing. Let's take a closer look!

We don't normally post on the fifth of the month, but this was an important event, and it just can't wait until November 1st, so we thought we'd inform you now.

New Google Pixel Phones: Pixel and Pixel XL

If you're in the market for a new phone, you can pick this one up at your nearest Verizon store, or you can buy it outright (pay full price and don't get stuck in a contract). These phones aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for, which is a lot!

The Pixel phones come in two different sizes, named accordingly. The Pixel is a 5-inch phone and the Pixel XL is a 5.5-inch phone. Both offer superior AMOLED screens with high resolutions and pixel densities. If that last sentence sounded like gibberish to you, you're not alone. It simply means that the screens can produce darker blacks and whiter whites, and the pixels are so small that your eyes can't see individual ones, but rather they see a large, crisp, vivid image on the screen!

Google Pixel Smartphone

To complement a gorgeous screen is a camera that takes gorgeous photos. The Pixel's and Pixel XL's cameras are, to be frank, the best in the world. These cameras produce photos that surpass all previous thoughts of great photos, and other manufacturers will probably have a hard time creating a phone with a camera this good. And here's the best part: the camera doesn't stick out of the back of the phone!! Most iPhones' cameras protrude from the back, which doesn't let the phone balance when it's placed face-up on a table, without a case on.

Inside, the Pixel and Pixel XL feature state-of-the-art Qualcomm Snapdragon processors and 4 GB of RAM. That's probably the same amount of RAM your computer has! The phones also come with either 32 or 128 GB of storage, along with unlimited storage for photos in Google Photos.

Overall, the Pixel and Pixel smartphones, unveiled on October 4, are very powerful and high-end phones that are causing the dust to be blown around all over Androidland. The next question is this: What will Samsung do now that Google is an actual competitor? Let us know in the comments.
